  • Description

The art of soldering is to heat both the solder and the workpiece for as short a time as possible, in order to prevent oxidation of the solder. If the temperature is too high, the resin will evaporate / burn from the resin core of the solder, after which it can no longer offer protection against the oxidation of the surface to be soldered. A temperature that is too low means that the workpiece cannot be heated up sufficiently, so that the solder does not adhere to the workpiece. What constitutes too low or too high a temperature depends on the size of the solder and the heat capacity of the workpiece.

This is why being able to set the temperature of a soldering iron very accurately makes the difference between soldering fast and good, or soldering slowly and therefore bad.

This precise setting of the temperature of the soldering iron is exactly what you can do with this HBM soldering station!

By sliding the “Display” slide switch to the right, you can set the desired temperature with the rotary knob. You can choose this continuously between 150° - 420° Celsius! By sliding the switch to the left you can read on the LED display what the current temperature of the tip of the 48 Watt soldering iron is.

This 48 Watt is relatively much for a small soldering iron like this. This not only ensures that the desired temperature is reached quickly, but also that the soldering iron has sufficient heat capacity and power to handle even larger workpieces.

This makes this soldering station a good all-rounder that is suitable for very precise soldering work, as is common in electronics, as well as for soldering larger objects such as thick cables.

This is a soldering station with which the professional will immediately enjoy working and the novice solderer will once again experience that good tools are half the work and save a lot of frustration.
